OUIJA: DICING WITH DEATH – FREE

DICINGPI
FIRST: THE WARNING
You are about to watch a documentary which experiments with the practice of Ouija Boards. Some people believe that Ouija boards can open portals to demonic and dark entities that can have a negative impact on your life and the lives of those around you. We strongly advise that anyone watching does not
recreate anything that is shown in this documentary. We will not be held accountable for anyone choosing to ignore this advice.
FADE TO BLACK…

NOW THE BLURB FROM
PARANORMAL TRUTH’S YOUTUBE CHANNEL:
In this three part documentary, Dale Makin and Justin Cowell, along with some special guests, investigate the practice of Ouija boards. We take the use of Ouija boards to some of the most haunted locations throughout the UK to determine if Ouija boards are a genuine means of spirit communication or if it is nothing more than a board game which has inherited a negative stigma.

Justin Cowell, Paranormal Truth team member, sets the stage for these three ghost hunting episodes. These Ouija Board investigations will be conducted in nine of England’s most haunted locations.

RATING:  5 Charley’s
Paranormal Truth consists of two open-minded, skeptical paranormal investigators, Justin Cowell and Dale Makin, who travel the globe to some of the most haunted locations and document everything with their cameras.

DALEM
Dale Makin, the other dedicated
member of Paranormal Truth.

In this series, they have challenged themselves to fore go the usual ghost hunting equipment and use a Ouija Board instead. In each one of the investigations, Makin and Colwell try to make contact with various ghosts and paranormal entities across the U.K., but, from a skeptical point of view. Which is refreshing to see in the “Ghost hunting, reality TV genera. I gave the series 5 Charley’s because of their open-minded approach in the investigations.

Eventually, the patented and trademarked “Ouija Board” was classified as a “novelty toy” used for entertainment purposes.

Overall, the show has excellent production values. The only complaint I have is that I was not too familiar with the reputed hauntings they investigated as well as the experts who appear throughout the series. Short backstories would have helped overall. In the reference section below, I have included links
to the hauntings and personalities that appeared in the first episode.

BUYSIPCROPPED

For many people, Voo Doo is synonymous with black magic and malevolence. It’s regarded with suspicion, conjuring up images of animal sacrifices and mutilated dolls. This powerful documentary takes us straight into this hidden, impenetrable world. Beautifully-made with unbelievable access to Voo Doo practitioners, this film offers an unrivaled insight into this frequently misunderstood religion.

RATING: 5 Charley’s – PLUS!
Right from the start, this documentary plunges you into the very core of Voo Doo ceremonial magic. This is an unprecedented glimpse into a religion that the Western world will not accept. We are conducted on this insider’s journey by the Voo Doo Priest* Vladimir Benadel.

TEMPLE WSR
This is Vladimir’s Temple, 30 of his Ancestor’s Spirits live there. They each have their own rooms and very distinct and demanding personalities.
SPROOM
Frieda, the Queen of Vladimir’s Ancestors. Collectively, the Ancestors granted permission for this documentary to be made.

It is through his intersession, and that of his Ancestor’s Spirits, the production crew is granted access to private ceremonies, ritual customs and Voo Doo Societies.  You will come away with a greater understanding and respect for this vital religious practice. And I guarantee you, you will watch it more than once.

* In Voo Doo, there are both Priests and Priestess. And there is no limit to what practitioner rank either one can rise to.

Belonging to a Voo Doo Society in Haiti is a way of life and creates a supportive community. The  Societies are a cooperative. They pool their money and donate it to the members most in need at the time. Eve and Odette were the recipients of this month’s pool. They were able to restart their baking business and return to the Friday market to sell their goods.

Voo Doo: Facts About A Misunderstood Religion
From the LIVE SCIENCE website:
Voo Doo is a sensationalized pop-culture caricature of Voudon, an Afro-Caribbean religion that originated in Haiti, though followers can be found in Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, the United States and elsewhere. It has very little to do with so-called Voo Doo dolls or zombies.

The Origins of Voo Doo, the Misunderstood Religion
From the ANCIENT ORIGINS website:
Although the exact origins of Voo Doo are unknown, it is generally agreed that this religion has its roots in West Africa. Modern day Benin is regarded as the birth place of this religion, and the name ‘Voo Doo’ itself means ‘spirit’ in the local Fon language. Read the full article:

DANCE
Voo Doo Societies often meet each other for ritual ceremonies of song and dance. However, while the festive song and dance ceremony is under way, each Voo Doo Society must remain vigilant. Because each Society may attempt to steal the other one’s magic. Or worse, cast a spell on the opposing Society or its members.

Secrets of Voo Doo
By Milo Rigaud
VGBKC#2
Secrets of Voo Doo traces the development in Haiti and the Americas of this complex religion from its sources in the brilliant civilizations of ancient Africa. This book presents a straightforward account of the gods of Loas and their function, the symbols, signs, rituals and the ceremonial calendar of Voodoo; and the procedures for performing magical rites are given.
“Voo Doo,” derived from the words meaning “introspection” and “mystere,” is a system of belies about the formation of the world and human destiny with clear correspondences in other world religions. Rigaud makes these connections and discloses the esoteric meaning underlying Voodoo’s outward manifestations, which are often misinterpreted. Translated from the French by Robert B. Cross. Drawings and photographs by Odette Mennesson-Rigaud.

WILLIAM FRIEDKIN’S THE DEVIL AND FATHER AMORTH

AMORTHPOSTI
Over 40 years after the release of the “The Exorcist,” Director William Friedkin meets the Vatican’s “Dean of Exorcists,” Father Gabriele Amorth, and receives permission to film his ninth attempt to exorcise a woman named Christina.
Amazon Prime’s Blurb.

OFFICIAL TRAILER

ITS RATING:  5 Charley’s.
Now, I’m not a lightweight when it comes to horror movies. But “The Exorcist” scared the Heebie-Jeebies out of me. So much so, that I have only seen the film once, and that was on the big screen way back in 1973 when it premiered.

The movie was based on the book, with the same title by the late William Peter Blattey. He also wrote the screenplay for the movie. The book in turn, was based on an actual exorcism.

All of this backstory is covered in great detail by William Friedkin, who also serves as the host and cameraman as he delves into the world of demonic possessions. He was invited by the late Father Amorth to film Christina’s 9th exorcism. Friedkin’s hand-held, point-of-view camera work gives the audience a front row seat to the turbulent ritual. It is revealed during this cleansing that the Demon who possess Christina is not just some run-of-the-mill, low level tormentor, but Satan himself!

RESTRAINED
Several Deacons, much bigger and heavier than Christina
struggled to restrain her during the ritual. That’s
Christina’s mother looking on in the background, praying
along with a room full of family members and friends.

Friedkin then takes his astonishing footage and consults numerous medical and religious authorities to get their professional take as to Christina’s claim of possession and use of exorcism to help heal  people with this diagnosis.  Their learned opinions will surprise you. Couple that with Friedkin’s and his Production Assistant’s later chilling encounter with Christina and her boyfriend in a church will make this one documentary you won’t soon forget.

RETURN OF THE EXORCISTS

RTOTEXPOSTI

Explore the heart of good versus demonic evil in this documentary. Guided by Theology Scholar, Father Francis Tiso, this eye-opening film takes you through the Catholic Churches’ startling mobilization to combat malevolent evil in Italy. It features actual footage of disturbing possessions and the unsettling exorcisms performed by the churches most experienced exorcists.

RETURN OF THE EXORCISTS

 RATING: 5 Charley’s.
Hardly a week goes by when there isn’t an article posted on a news site or a feature story on television that doesn’t discuss exorcism. Popular Ghost Hunting show investigators often call on the services of an exorcist to drive out demons, malevolent Ghosts or Shadow people from the locus in quo. The Church has also begun training priests from all over the world to become qualified in conducting these rituals.

But why now? And why is this one region in Italy seemingly over run with demon possessions? So much so, that the Reverend Gabriele Amorth, the exorcist of the Diocese of Rome actually has a call-in radio show for people that think they are possessed, so they can find help and possible relief from their suffering. This documentary deals frankly with the church’s recognition of demon spirits and the steps it is taking to battle these entities world-wide.
(Spoiler Alert! Don’t worry, there is no 360 head turning, vomiting or bloodletting anywhere to be found
in this video. Yes, a curse word or two. A blaspheme here and there, but you know, Demons, what do you expect?)
