THE BRAY ROAD BEAST

BOFBRAY

“In the early 1990’s a rural Wisconsin community called Elkhorn was at the center of a series of real-life werewolf sightings. As a local reporter, Linda Godfrey, began her investigation into the “Beast of Bray Road,” and other reports from around the county. For the subsequent three decades, the Beast of Bray Road has been the most infamous Wisconsin resident there is.”

RATING:  5 Charley’s.
Any video with Seth Breedlove’s name attached to it is a must watch. This particular video, more so. It includes first-hand, reputable eye-witness testimony of what people believe to be a “Werewolf.”

ABRB
Linda Godfrey was a reporter at the time in 1992 when the Beast of Bray road made its’ ominous appearance in Elkhorn WI. Here, Godfrey showcases her first article about the local “Werewolf.”

Featured in the video is Linda Godfrey, investigator and author. Godfrey is the original reporter who broke the Bray Beast story, plus other paranormal events in Elkhorn WI., including animal mutilations and UFO sightings. Mind you all of these events and terrifying encounters are just the tip of the iceberg in this well produced piece of Fortean gold.

JAY B
Paranormal Investigator Jay Bachochin of Elkhorn, agrees with Godfrey that Wisconsin has long been a hot-spot of paranormal activity.

Still the question remains, why is this four and half mile long lonely country road subject to reoccurring visits from a “Werewolf?”

Paranormal Investigator Jay Bachochin, along with Linda Godfrey recounts descriptions of the Beast as told to them by eye-witnesses.

THE BRIDGEWATER TRIANGLE MYSTERY

BWTPI

The Bridgewater Triangle” hosts an unusually high volume of reports involving strange happenings, baffling mysteries and sinister deeds. From ghostly hauntings and cryptid animal sightings, to UFO encounters and evidence of satanic ritual sacrifice, this 200-square mile region in Southeastern Massachusetts serves as one of the world’s most diverse and well-known hot spots for paranormal activity
AMAZON PRIME’S BLURB

Was the strange creature that William Russo encountered on a late night walk with his dog one of the dreaded Pukwudgies that the local Wampanoag Indian tribe fears? Here is his chilling account.

RATING:  5 Charley’s
The Bridgewater Triangle encompasses slightly over 200 miles of weird in southeastern Massachusetts. Its points are anchored in the north, by the city of Abington. In the southeast, Freetown and in the southwest, Rehoboth.

TRIANGLE CROP
From ghoulies and ghosties. And long-leggedy beasties
And things that go bump in the night, Good Lord, deliver us!
Traditional Scottish Prayer

And when I write weird, I actually mean REALLY WEIRD. There is not one denizen of the ranks of the  Fortean Pantheon that does not make its appearance in the triangle. Some on a hauntingly regular basis. And this documentary covers them all. The value of the video is that it interviews key investigators and witnesses. So, it’s mostly first-hand source data for you to consider.

KPWAE
Like the Mothman story in Point Pleasant WV, the Bridgewater Triangle legend begins with Native American and settlers conflicts. The bloody war that spread throughout New England was known as King Philip’s War, named after the Chief who lead the uprising. Five percent of New England’s population was killed in the struggle. Today, many people think there’s an Indian curse on the land, just as the people of Point Pleasant believe their town is cursed in the same way.  (See my review: Eyes of the Mothman.)

Overall it’s an entertaining and highly informative video. If you’ve never heard of the Bridgewater Triangle before, here’s your Masters’ Degree course on it.  Then after viewing it, ask yourself “Can all of these incredible things be happening in an area that anyone on the east coast can easily drive to?”

LORENC Loren Colman
Appearing throughout the video is the much respected researcher Loren Colman. In 1983, Cryptozoologist Colman published his book, Mysterious America. In it he described a 200 square-mile region in southeastern Massachusetts with a long history of strange, paranormal, and sometimes, sinister activity. He called the region, The Bridgewater Triangle.

HUNT FOR THE SKINWALKER

HFSPI

Hundreds of reports of phenomena at Skinwalker Ranch have made it one of the most famous paranormal hot spots in the world. Previously unreleased footage and interviews from the scientific study piece together what could be happening there.
Blurb from Amazon Prime

OFFICIAL TRAILER

RATING: 2 Charley’s
I was much disappointed in this over-hyped supposed Fortean Buffet. Viewers are promised never before seen footage, so I expected much more in the way of paranormal footage then what the show delivered. Actually it delivered very little if any at all.

The Director, Jeremy Corbell’s ominous introductory voice-over state’s “The largest scientific study in history, of a paranormal hot spot there are more questions than answers.” My question is, where are the results of this ground breaking study and why are they not in this documentary?

Plus a tip of the hat to Rod Serling for his “land of both shadows and substance” quote would have been nice.

The show is based on the 2005 book, Hunt for the Skinwalker co-authored by Colm A. Kelleher, Ph.d and George Knapp, who are both prominently featured in the film. Basically what they do is wander around the Ranch and verbalize accounts that were reported in the book. The book has many more in-depth details about these accounts.

The interviews with former National Institute of Discovery Sciences (N.I.D.S) are interesting, but they all speak in very broad terms, not specifics. Where is all the hard data they keep referring to?

The very few interviews with local UTE tribal members, who witness on-going UFO activity and have experienced both physical effects and emotional trauma are the highlights of video.

Over all, I think the video is too long. Granted the scenic shots are beautiful, but couple them with long shots of cars and trucks passing by, it gets a bit tedious. I saw little need for the campfires scenes featured throughout the video.

Especially the last one where one of the participants was the popular singer Robbie Williams. Where did he come from and why are the cameras capturing these precious, beer buddy drinking, “Gee-whiz, Kumbaya moments?  Shouldn’t these valuable cameras be trained on some of the many paranormal hot-spots on the ranch to see what they might capture?

Furthermore, we all know what grisly images the mind brings up when the subject of cattle mutilations come up. This is one segment of the film where the director could have used way less footage. A quick far away, establishing still shot was all the viewers needed to see here. Instead, the camera lingers over several unfortunate victims of these heinous acts. With one close-up after another pointing out the extent of the mutilations.

Then, we are treated to footage of N.I.D.S investigators further hacking away at the corpses. This hacking also looks pretty random here. Shouldn’t a Forensic specialist been consulted here? Pretty brutal footage overall.

Perhaps a warning slate,  before these cuts (No pun intended here.) of VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED would have helped. Honestly, do we need to see a mutilated cow’s ear skatey-eight dozen times?

Unfortunately the only way to see this video, if you want to see it, is to buy it. No free pass here even to Amazon Prime members. Overall, I think the book tells a better and a more believable story about the Skinwalker ranch, although there are discrepancies throughout it as well.

THE PRINCIPLE PLAYERS

ORGINR
WHO IS THIS GUY?

The Rancher in this photo (48:00 minutes in) is not identified in the video. In fact, if you blink, you’ll miss it.  So whose picture is this? And why is the former owner’s family name, whoever they may be, never mentioned anywhere in this video?

In the book, Hunt for the Skinwalker the owners of the ranch were identified as Tom and Ellen Gorman. And the book was dedicated to the Gorman family for “their extraordinary courage.”
Hense the Gorman ranch.  Also in the book, the exact location of the ranch is shrouded in secrecy. Now the former owners are identified as Terry and Gwen Sherman. Their names appear in two places. One, in the History Channel’s promo for their new Skinwalker Ranch series:
HOW THE SKINWALKER RANCH BECAME A HOT BED OF PARANORMAL ACTIVITY
The History Channel.
RED B

And two, www.skinwalkerranch.org this site, though an .org, it seems to be hosted by Ryan Skinner. His .com is pointed to the .org. Skinner is the author of several books on the Skinwalker ranch and they are all on sale on the site. This site was also being used to raise money for Skinner to make a documentary on the ranch.
The Gofundme page has since been deactivated and no longer taking donations.  Overall, I found the site to pretty accurate and informative. I can’t speak for the books, because I never read any.
For the Sherman citation, see under
“Timeline: History of the Ranch – 1994.”

HFSBKC

The author of the controversial bestseller Brain Trust brings his scientific expertise to the chilling true story of unexplained phenomena on Utah’s Skinwalker Ranch — and challenges us with a new vision of reality.

For more than fifty years, the bizarre events at a remote Utah ranch have ranged from the perplexing to the wholly terrifying. Vanishing and mutilated cattle. Unidentified Flying Objects. The appearance of huge, otherworldly creatures. Invisible objects emitting magnetic fields with the power to spark a cattle stampede. Flying orbs of light with dazzling maneuverability and lethal consequences. For one family, life on the Skinwalker Ranch had become a life under siege by an unknown enemy or enemies. Nothing else could explain the horrors that surrounded them — perhaps science could.

Many Americans believe that so-called ancient astronauts (visitors from outer space) were responsible for historical wonders like the pyramids. This entertaining and informative book traces the origins of such beliefs to the work of horror writer H. P. Lovecraft (1890–1937).

The author takes the reader through fifty years of pop culture and pseudoscience highlighting such influential figures and developments as Erich von Däniken (Chariots of the Gods), Graham Hancock (Fingerprints of the Gods), Zecharia Sitchin (Twelfth Planet), and the Raelian Revolution.

The astounding and improbable connections among these various characters are revealed, along with the disturbing consequences of Lovecraft’s “little joke” for modern science and public knowledge.
